Giclée Print of The Marblehead, Ohio Lighthouse in Summer
This was the first painting in my four-season Marblehead Lighthouse series.. I always knew I wanted to paint the lighthouse, since it has been a special place for me and my family for generations. My grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins rented the entire group of cottages at the tip of Marblehead every summer, and later my own family vacationed there too. We fished, boated, swam in the quarries, and made great memories there and eventually bought a home on the bay.
There's something about Marblehead that's hard to explain unless you've felt it yourself. The moment you cross that Bay Bridge, you feel it! The peaceful serenity, that familiar smell, all wrapped in memories comes flooding in. This is why it holds such a special place in my heart.
In SUMMER, I included a tiny illustration of our boat heading out to fish, a memory woven into so many of our days on the water. In contrast, the AUTUMN painting features our boat returning home into the sunset - another chapter in my story.
This piece is part of my four-season Marblehead Lighthouse series. The SUMMER painting is sometimes viewed as "classic Marblehead" as it captures another chapter of my life on the lake. Together they create a beautifully cohesive collection for your home.
